New E-Books from Duke University Press

April 19, 2010

A new set of e-books from Duke University Press adds over 1,000 titles to our e-book collection.  These additional books are mostly of interest to those studying Cultural Studies, Politics, English, and History.

Access these books on the ebrary Information on Ebrary. site or through TOPCAT (the library catalogue).  See our webpage on finding e-books.

Trent now has access to over 500,000 e-books.

New Scholars Portal E-Book Platform

February 10, 2010

Scholars Portal E-Books has just been released to Ontario Universities.  Use it to find e-books available through the Trent Library (select “Full Text” option to limit to those at Trent).

Many of these e-books are also found in TOPCAT. Many of the e-books listed in TOPCAT have not yet been added to this new platform. It’s a good idea to check both places for books.

This project is in its early stages. The number of e-books available will continue to grow, as more e-books are added to the collection.

Links to Scholars Portal E-Books now appear on the E-Resources page and on our Directory of Online Databases page.

Greater Access to E-books

June 12, 2009

The Library is pleased to announce that we have improved access to over 30 000 e-book titles via TOPCAT that were acquired through the federal Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN). These e-books from Oxford, Cambridge, and Taylor & Francis/Routledge cover a range of scholarly subjects. Under our CRKN license, forthcoming titles will be added as they become available.
